At first it was Raul then it was Casillas now it is the the great Cristiano Ronaldo,maybe the ultimate no 7 of football history ,all left with their heads down from Santiago Bernabeu.
Did they deserved this after all their contributions to the Galacticos?
Real Madrid never paid any such tributes to their club legends like Raul,Casillas and in the recent case Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo who arrived to the Bernabeu from Old Trafford on a £80 million move in 2009,they set a world record transfer fee at that time.
Since coming to Madrid he scored a thundering 451 goals in 438 appearances.
He won 16 trophies within his time in Madrid.
4 times champions league, twice the La Liga , twice Copa Del Rey ,twice Spanish super cup ,
three time FIFA club world cup and three times UEFA super cup.
That's a trophy cabinet that any footballer can be proud of.
The mental side of Real Madrid:
From 2009 to 2018 he spent a nine year period on Bernabeu. In that period he had little ups and downs and some Bernabeu fans used to boo him that never made Ronaldo happy.
But in his bad seasons he crossed the 40 goals mark in a season eight times in his nine year Real Madrid career. In his first season in Madrid he didn't crossed that mark because off his ankle injury but he managed to get 33 goals in his 35 appearances.
Imagine 40 goals in bad seasons . It is not normal. In recent football with these fit and super quick defenders I am not sure that anyone after him an Lionel Messi will score goals like that for a dacade . Their consistency is a joke.
Real Madrid should have done anything to make Ronaldo happy. Because a player of his quality should be getting whatever he needs.
It didn't happened.
Untill the last December's Christmas break he was out from and scored only 4 times in La Liga.
On 23rd December 2017 Real Madrid hosted Barcelona on the first classico of that season in La liga and Real Madrid lost that match 0-3 . After that match the whole Real Madrid team specially Ronaldo was booed by Real Madrid fans.
According to sources in December that day Ronaldo made his mind up to leave at the summer window and that happened .
He moved to Juventus .
Conclusion:-
Ronaldo left Madrid but Madrid wasn't able to find any replacements .
A new season started with the struggle of Real Madrid.
Real Madrid lost the UEFA super cup to Atletico.
They lost 3-0 against Sevilla in LA liga and have drawn the Madrid derby this weekend.
Now the only question comes up straight away in the mind is "who will be that guy for Real that will score 40 goals a season at least"?
Injury prone Bale is capable but can he do it ?
Or will those fans who used to boo Ronaldo they get to know what they have lost?
My view:-
In my view Madrid lost something that they will regret for sometime. CR7 is a big big loss .
