Real Madrid Humiliated by Levante and Breaks the 116 Years History, Lopetegui Sacking on the Cards

REAL MADRID DOWN AND OUT AS THEY  LOSE THEIR 4TH GAME IN 5 MATCHES.

WHAT IS THE STORY ?

Real Madrid lose  their 4th game in their last 5 matches in all competitions as they get beaten at Santiago Bernabeu  by Leavante 1-2 . Madrid broke their club record for longest goal less run in their 116 years history when they failed to score in the first 56 minutes against Levante , Marcelo scored in the 73rd  minute of the match to set the new goal less record  that is 482 minutes now ,the previous record was 465 minutes. In the last five matches Real Madrid's performence was not up to their standard and Real Madrid manager Lopetegui's future is hanging on the Classico's result  which is  taking place within 8 days .

IN THE MATCH:

First Half:

Levante scored very early in game to put pressure on Real Madrid. A simple ball over the top got Morales in behind Madrid's defence and he rounded Courtis and scored the opening goal of the match.

Right after the goal Asensio got behind the Levante defence and was dragged to ground just outside of the penalty area.

In the minute 12, Varane handed the ball in the penalty area which was firstly given freekick by the referee but later after consulting with VAR it  was over ruled and the penalty was awarded.  Roger Martí made no mistake from the spot to extend the lead  for the away side. Barely the  worst start that Real Madrid's fans can imagine.

Asnensio had the ball into the net but it was rightly called offside in the minute 17.

With very few chances Real Madrid had a ordinary first 30 minutes. Levante looked sharp and there was no real danger from Real Madrid.

There was more drama at the end of the first half.

In the minute 43 Vasquez  missed a simple chance when a corner felt into his path but he was unable to pounce on that from a point blank range .

Just before first half whistle Levante was able to score again but later found out they are in a offside position and goal was rightly cancelled.

Second Half:

At the start of second half Lopetegui made his first substitution and he introduced Garath Bale in place of young Odriozola. Real Madrid started with more belief and Levante were defending sharply.

Levante had a very good chance on the minute 57, the second goal scorer Roger Martí had a simple pass to put his teammate through to the goal but instead of that he selfishly tried to score by himself and got his shot  blocked. A glorious chance Levante missed to make 3-0 and that would have killed the game there.

Then Lopetegui made a double substitution Benzema and Dani Ceballos came in place of Marco Asensio and Isco Alcaron.

Benzema got a chance almost immediately but his left footed shot was straight to the  Levante  goal keeper Oier.

In the minute 65 Bale curled a beautiful free kick but Oier was equal to it.

On the minute 71 finally Real Madrid scored . Marcelo gave Real Madrid a life line by firing a venomous strike with his right foot.

After the goal Madrid continued to put pressure but Levante's defensive efforts were up to the mark and they were almost heading everything away.

Mariano had the ball in the Levante net but it was rightly ruled offside in the minute 88.

Morales missed a easy 1 vs 1 chance in the last minute of the game to make it 3 for the visiting side as the game ended with 1-2 loss for Madrid.

CONCLUSION:
After the international break Real Madrid fans may have wished to change their luck but it didn't seems to be happening right now  as they show another poor display on their fortress   Santiago Bernabeu.

Going into the match Lopetegui took a risk by not starting Garath Bale,Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema but it has backfired them for a big time . The EL Classico is on the horizon and team is struggling to score goals and in the defence Varane is not up to the standard after a impressive world cup in Russia.

The future of the Real Madrid coach in not looking vividly good at the moment . As anything can happen but Real Madrid board might just wait for Classico and then make a judgement of him.
